Perisphere Theater is accepting applications for a director for our January-February 2018 production of Tartuffe (Richard Wilbur translation). The show will be presented at the Trinidad Theatre—Logan Fringe Arts Space in NE Washington, D.C., over seven public performances: January 25, 26, 27, 28, and February 2, 3, and 4. There will also be one daytime show for high schoolers on January 31.
To be considered for an interview, please email Heather Benjamin at firstname.lastname@example.org with your directing resume and a basic statement of 300-500 words on your proposed approach to the play. If you have more than one potential approach, feel free to summarize both.
Deadline for applications is August 14, 2017. If you are selected for an interview, we will contact you by early September.
- As we are a young company, approaches that work creatively with limited resources will be given preference. This does not, however, preclude a period performance or design style approach.
- Perisphere encourages diversity in production, casting and tech roles.
- Please view our mission and values statements before submitting.
- The director will receive a stipend (all positions and roles are non-union and paid).
Perisphere Theater welcomes interest from local actors, designers, and technicians. To submit a headshot and resume or to inquire about opportunities, please email us. In addition, if you are interested in volunteering with the theater in any capacity, we’d love to have you!
